google analytics

It might seem like a mean thing to do but i have left some stuff out of my ebook deliberatly. the truth is, i need you to come back for more information every now and thenand to remember me. that is kinda the essence of making money on the internet. you need to have people come back for more. and since i'm not charging anybody for the information, i geuss it's only fair. thats one important thing you should look at when you start a blog. make sure your blog is good enough to attract repeat visits.

here's a tip: when you start your blog, make sure you go to http://www.google.com/analytics and create an account. the procedure is quite simple. all you have to do is use your gmail/google/blogger account to access analytics. then add your blog address and continue. analytics will give you a code which you should paste in your blogs html. there are two ways of doing this on blogger:

1) paste it directly into the code > you do this by going to the 'template' tab and then clicking on the 'edit html' tab. paste it in the html after the 'body' tag.

2) create a page element > go to the 'template' tab and then click on 'page elements'. 'add' a page element. there should be an 'html' option on the popup. paste the code. google analytics is imporant because it keeps track of all the hits on your website. it tells you what the sources of traffic are, which countries the traffic is coming from, the number of hits every day, number of repeat visitors, average time people spend reading your blog, and a ton of other stuff. this is worth looking at. get used to it because when your blog starts to take off, you will need analytics to guage the blogs success.
